Deep down inside of the earth lays a problem that finally rises to the surface. Fracking has been problem that plagued the 21st century. As time advances so does the technology that comes with it. Fracking has plagued other states such as Arkansas, Colorado, Texas, Utah, Wyoming and West Virginia. Fracking is the process of natural gas being extracted from the rock layers that are embedded deep inside the earth. This has caused numerous problems for the state government legislative and federal government. We should not allow fracking to be legal in West Virginia by the federal government because of the devastating consequences it has on the citizens of the state and legislative as well as the environment of the state.
Fracking has been around for over 100 years dating back to the times of the civil war. Since this time period fracking has been a growing solution for the federal government to use to solve the multiple problems that exist today. Fracking is an inconvenient source to extract natural gas from the earth’s core. Fracking has caused many deaths due to explosions, poisoned water, and polluted air. Citizens of West Virginia argue that fracking has caused more problems than fixing the ones that already exist. We believe that laws and decisions that are portrayed for fracking should be made by the state legislative and not the federal government. The federal government does not know what is best for the people of West Virginia when many do not live there themselves.
The federal government sees a different point of view to this controversy. The federal government wants the decisions of the law making on fracking because it benefits them. Not only does fracking eliminate debt for them, but also time on creating rules to obey by. The federal government has been a supporter for fracking from day one. It is very convenient for them. State legislative of West Virginia and I believe that there can be a compromise between both the needs of the state legislative and federal government.
Fracking is NOT the solution. Fracking can be solved by the state legislative of West Virginia and the federal government compromising an agreement that both parties can live by. One of these solutions is finding other alternate solutions to finding natural gas that is less harmful to West Virginia and cheap for the federal government. Where do you stand with fracking?

Speeding around the Mountains

Speed limits were first enforced around the United Kingdom then later as time and technology advanced it traveled to the United States. The speed limit for each state varies because the federal government allows each state to change their speed limit as they wish to better suit their people and based upon state rights. They are the rights that every state has and cannot be taken away from by the federal government. The current issue that has been plaguing the state of West Virginia is the choice that the state has made to raise their speed limit to 70 mph around mountainous highways recently in the years.
The reason behind this decision was to increase transportation effectiveness. This has raised severe concerns not only for the citizens that live in West Virginia, but for the federal government as well. However, the question that calls attention to this controversial topic is why is West Virginia raising their speed limits around their highways that are on top of mountains? The federal government has asked the state this question numerous times with the answer that still exists today. West Virginia is able to change their speed limit even though it is not in the Constitution as a
West Virginia has the implied power to change their speed limit. West Virginia wanted to change their speed limit so transportation effectiveness in the state is more coherent. The federal government does not want West Virginia changing their state speed limit due to the high danger zone for the mountainous highways. The Federal Government is known to use categorical grants as bribery for states such as West Virginia to lower their speed limits. West Virginia has not used any grants from the federal government since the decision of raising their state speed limit. The decision has not yet been made by the federal government on the speed limit regulations for West Virginia yet.

I have the Right to Bear Arms…or do I?

Citizens of the United States have been known for having unlimited rights given to them throughout a period of history. The most famous are the rights to the pursuit of happiness, life, and liberty. The other rights that are given to the American people are called the Bill of Rights. As well as the federalist papers. In the state of West Virginia the right to Bear Arms is a right that has been given to all residents there freely. This poses several threats not only to other surrounding states, but to the Federal government as well.
The current gun policy in West Virginia is extremely loose. Residents that are able to own guns in the state of West Virginia are allowed to carry guns in schools, public areas, and in open carry. These certain types of policies should be inhibited by the Federal government only. West Virginia should have not had a say in gun control. The Constitution for the Right to Bear Arms proclaims that states are only need militia or protection in times of war for self-defense, “A well-regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed”. (US Constitution Bill of Rights) This asserts that states do not need the freedom of guns. Gun policy should not be left up to the states, but to the Federalism government.
West Virginia is a hunting state and as other hunting states allocated across the country have similar gun control policies. The policies made by the state of West Virginia conflicts with what the Federal government supports and needs to be revised! The Federal government is in charge of having the safety of the nation constantly in the palm of his hands. However, another question that lies under the surface of the ice is why should citizens have all around protection if the Federal government does that? This not only spark controversy, but protest in West Virginia! While state governments in West Virginia argue that the rights that they are insured do come from the Constitution and the federal government MUST go by what the Constitution says.
West Virginia should not be able to make their own decisions relating to gun control policy because the state does know how to watch over the citizens or majority under this policy. A solution to this rising conflict is by having people sign the petition in support of the federal government and have groups, or meetings that discuss the reasons that the federal government makes the decisions it does. Gun policy is not just a policy…it’s a right…and that right needs to give to the federal government.
